1310 Longworth House Office Building
Committee Business Meeting

Measure:

  • Regulations implementing H.Res. 630: Requiring each Member, officer, and employee of the House of Representatives to complete a program of training in workplace rights and responsibilities each session of each Congress, and for other purposes.

Previewing the markup, Chairman Harper said: “The Committee has been conducting its extensive review of the resources available to assist our Members and staff in regard to harassment and discrimination awareness and reporting. One of the first actions the House took was to mandate training for all Members, staff, interns, fellows, and detailees so individuals will be fully aware of the laws that apply to them and their right to a harassment-free workplace under the Congressional Accountability Act. Our Committee will now approve the guidelines instituting the mandatory training within our House regulations, so each office knows how to complete this training and provide the necessary documentation. I look forward to continuing our work with everyone to ensure that our Capitol Hill community is a safe and productive work environment.”

Additional information will be available via the Committee Repository.
