Lofgren: Committee Formally Organized for the 117th Congress
San Jose, Calif. – Committee on House Administration Chairperson Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) issued the following statement regarding the Organizational Meeting for the 117th Congress today:
“I’m pleased that the Committee on House Administration has formally organized and adopted committee rules for the 117th Congress.
“The Committee has a great deal of work to do. The 2020 election and the insurrection at the Capitol have reminded us that democracy cannot be take for granted – it must be maintained, restored, and protected. We have a duty and a mandate from the American people to put power back in the hands of the people by ending the dominance of big money in politics, making it easier, not harder to vote, and ensuring that politicians actually serve the public interest.
“With the leadership of Committee Vice Chair Scanlon, Elections Subcommittee Chair Butterfield, and the expertise of Representative Raskin, Representative Aguilar, and Representative Leger Fernandez, I am confident we will meet that challenge.
“I look forward to building back better for America in a very productive 117th Congress.”
