WASHINGTON – Today, Committee on House Administration Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI) and Ranking Member Robert Brady (D-PA) issued the following statement on the Capitol Police Board’s selection of Matthew R. Verderosa as the new Chief of the U.S. Capitol Police:

“We congratulate Matt Verderosa on his selection as the next Chief of the United States Capitol Police.  Since Matt became Assistant Chief last year, the Committee has worked productively with him on a wide range of issues, each with the goal of making sure that the U.S. Capitol Complex is a safe and open environment for Members, staff, and visitors.  We look forward to continued collaboration with Matt in his new role as Chief, and once again congratulate him as he prepares to assume command of the dedicated men and women who make up the U.S. Capitol Police.”
