House Administration Committee Statement on USCP Chief Verderosa's Announced Retirement

WASHINGTON, DC – Committee on House Administration Chairperson Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today issued the following statement regarding U.S. Capitol Police Chief Matthew R. Verderosa’s announced retirement:

“The Committee thanks Chief Matthew R. Verderosa for his 34 years of federal law enforcement service and wishes him well in retirement. Chief Verderosa has served and protected this institution with a high level of integrity and professionalism. We express our sincere gratitude for his service and wish him a long and happy retirement.

“The dedicated men and women who make up the U.S. Capitol Police work tirelessly every day to protect the Capitol Complex, each Member of Congress, Congressional staff, and millions of visitors every year. The Committee looks forward to working closely with the Capitol Police Board as the group conducts a thorough and extensive search for qualified candidates to serve as the next Chief of Police.” # # #
