The Committee on House Administration, along with the Joint Committee on the Library, have jurisdiction over and conduct oversight of the Library of Congress. House Administration in particular has been integral to and played a key role in the Library’s recent digital and technological developments. On September 19th, Chairman Lungren participated with the Library of Congress in a press conference launching the new Congress.gov legislative data website, part of the Library’s overall online redesign. By October, 2014, Congress.gov will completely replace THOMAS, the current publically accessible home for legislative data, which was created in 1995. He was joined by Vice-Chairman of the Joint Committee on the Library, Mr. Gregg Harper of Mississippi, in applauding the Library, and their legislative partners, for this important achievement.
