Internships

Overview

Our program offers a rewarding experience for learning about administrative and daily functions of the House of Representatives. Although the internships are unpaid, our Committee supports students seeking college credit for their work in the office. Interns are accepted any time of the year, although it is best if a student can work for a full semester or summer.

Responsibilities

Interns are responsible for both administrative and legislative duties. Administrative tasks include answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail, entering data, and drafting correspondence. Legislative support includes performing research, drafting public statements, prepping materials for hearings, attending hearings and briefings, reaching out to agencies and other congressional offices, and a host of various special projects.

In preparation to complete this application please make sure you have a cover letter and resume ready (.txt, .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rtf). You'd also need names and addresses of 3 references.
