WASHINGTON — Chairman Vernon J. Ehlers, R-Mich., announced today that the Committee on House Administration will mark up portions of the Federal Election Integrity Act of 2006 (H.R. 4844), which is aimed at strengthening voter identification requirements in federal elections, at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2006, in room 1310 of the Longworth House Office Building.

WASHINGTON – Efforts to establish standards to guide the development and implementation of modern voting systems throughout the United States have made significant progress, but still have a way to go, according to a joint hearing of the Committee on House Administration and the House Science Committee Wednesday.
