WASHINGTON – Voting in federal elections should remain confined to only American citizens, witnesses testifying to the Committee on House Administration agreed in a hearing Thursday, but differences still remain over how to achieve that goal.
WASHINGTON – Election reforms included in the Help America Vote Act, and efforts to implement them over the past several years have led to significant improvements in the administration of elections in this country, members of the Committee on House Administration were told Thursday, although much work remains to be done and improvements continue to be made across the country.

Ehlers and other members of the House Administration Committee, in a hearing Thursday, strongly expressed their concerns to officials from the Smithsonian Institution about a controversial contract that some say could unfairly restrict the use of the Smithsonian's resources.

Ehlers, R-Mich., announced today that the Committee on House Administration will conduct a hearing on the operations and investments of Smithsonian Business Ventures, including Smithsonian on Demand, at 12 noon, Thursday, May 25, 2006, in room 1310 of the Longworth House Office Building .
