WASHINGTON – The Committee on House Administration Thursday favorably reported to the U.S. House of Representatives portions of the Lobbying Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (H.R. 4975), Chairman Vernon J. Ehlers announced.

The committee held a markup of the bill on the following sections:

• Title III, relating to the suspension of privately funded travel;
• Title IV, relating to oversight of compliance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act;
• Title V, sec. 502, relating to ethics training for Members and staff;
• Title VI, relating to 527 reform; and
• Title VII, relating to the forfeiture of retirement benefits.

The bill was reported without amendment on a 5-2 party-line vote.
