WASHINGTON - Committee on House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil along with Ranking Member Joe Morelle, and Subcommittee on Modernization & Innovation Chairwoman Stephanie Bice welcomed Paralyzed Veterans of America to the Capitol's ADA compliant Drop-off / Pick-up Zone.
"Our veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country, its citizens, and its ideals. It was an honor to join these courageous men and women at the Capitol's new ADA compliant Pick-up and Drop-off Zone," Chairman Steil said. "This project is an important step in making the Capitol accessible for everyone. I'm thankful to my colleagues on the Subcommittee on Modernization & Innovation for their work to make the Capitol more accessible for all Americans."

“Ensuring the Capitol campus is accessible to all members of the public is a critical priority and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made so far,” said Ranking Member Morelle. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to make additional accessibility improvements in the months to come.”

The Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Modernization and Innovation led the effort to create the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliant Pick-up and Drop-off Zone for the Capitol. The implementation of an ADA compliant Pick-up and Drop-off Zone was based on a recommendation made by the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. The ADA compliant Pick-up and Drop-off Zone is one of many efforts the Subcommittee on Modernization and Innovation has undertaken to make the Capitol campus more accessible for all visitors. As a part of the FY2024 Legislative Branch Appropriations, funding for a new ADA Pick-up and Drop-off zone was approved for construction on the Capitol complex.
