Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today released this statement following the passing of United States Capitol Police Officer William F. Evans:

"Officer Evans was a veteran officer dedicated to protecting the U.S. Capitol and his service will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers remain with his family and all who knew him. Our men and women serving in the USCP and the other first responders did an exemplary job today. Today, and everyday, I'm thankful for their service and protection. I hope all Americans will join me in praying for the recovery of the other injured officer and the entire United States Capitol Police force as they mourn the loss of another officer."
