WASHINGTON – Today, Committee on House Administration Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI) issued the following statement after the House’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) released the U.S. House of Representatives’ Financial Statement Audit reporting a clean opinion for fiscal year 2015:

“Today, I am proud to announce that the House of Representatives’ has received a clean audit for fiscal year 2015. This audit marks the 18th consecutive year in which the House received a clean opinion for the financial audit, no doubt stemming directly from the leadership of the Speaker of the House, our Committee, and each House support office’s consistent and bipartisan efforts to move this Institution forward. Additionally, the House remains in good financial standing as a direct result of the countless hours of hard work by the committed men and women who make up the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer and the Office of the House Inspector General. These audits help the House plan for and track numerous milestones so that we retain the highest standards of accountability and constantly strengthen our foundation for many years to come.”

In 1999, the House received the first-ever clean financial audit on the previous year’s operations, a trend which has continued for 18 consecutive years.
